Passing is a message
Passing on a teammate's successful play says: keep the lead. It also preserves your high cards for the landlord. Passing should be the default unless you can improve the team's finish.
Overtaking has a cost
- It spends a card the teammate already used to win the trick.
- It can turn one lead into a high-card bidding ladder.
- It gives the landlord information about both farmer hands.
Overtake only to go out, seize control for a long combo, or block a landlord who is about to finish.
Feeding a teammate
A low lead can invite a teammate to take control. With a teammate on one card, lead the lowest safe single. With two cards, a pair may be even better if the shape is plausible.
Blocking the landlord
When the landlord is close to going out, team communication changes. The next farmer should play the strongest safe response, even if it overtakes a teammate. Winning the round matters more than preserving the normal hierarchy.
Do not cheat
Players must not share hand information through voice, chat, screen sharing, or external tools. The only legitimate signals are the cards played, the passes, and the public table history.
